According to XBox Live, Gamerchix recently turned two years old, but sadly I had no idea it existed. Apparently GamerchiX exists to create an environment that will allow women to play Halo, or other games, without consistently suffering “Hey, are you a girl, show me your boobs” in the game lobby or continual teabagging in game. Yes fellows, that happens ALOT to us girls and we aren’t impressed…

/minor rant off

Anyway, GamerchiX has a ladies night every Monday that is guy and trash-talk free. Not that I don’t love playing with guys (that aren’t morons), but just sitting back and being free of the annoyance sounds fabulous to me. They are really serious about the no-trashtalking and no-guys rules, both are grounds for removal from chiX. If the guys on LIVE are looking for a time when they can play games with hot chix they can do that on Friday nights w/the Frag Dolls. As Miley says, best of both worlds (Hey, I’m a mom, jeesh).

Monday nights offer us girls-only games you can find using the chiX tracker to locate locate girl gamers that are online now and ready to party up. The chiX tracker is only available on Monday nights and the login deets are given to you once you are verified female, if you are wondering.

LIVE also offers up a girls-only forum, designed as a place for conversation and friend-making. Coolest part? Totally grassroots. Trixie *is* a Microsoft employee but she started the group on her off time. Sure, the admin part is now run by Sakson and Taylor, but still, it was created via ‘normal people’ and w/o marketing efforts in mind. Nice!

You know, going back and reading this it totally sounds like a promo for XBox LIVE. Think I can get some advertising dough from Microsoft? ;)

UnitedForPink has posted that Cavegirls forum is throwing a Halo 3 Breast Cancer tourney this weekend.

Finding a cure for breast cancer isn’t just for walkers and the racers anymore. Meet a determined gamer named Kari Toyama from an active ‘Halo’ gaming community called Cavegirls. I was really intrigued by this story, and I wanted to help spread the word! Playing ‘Halo’ to help find a cure?

Of course, just my luck, it’s already full (I can still sponsor a player though). Not that I would have lasted long, but it surely would have been nice to have a genuine excuse to play H3.

On a related note, my XBox time has increased lately. On Halo 3 we’ve gotten all the skulls, most of the achievements, and have beat it on legendary multiple times (yeah… we rock). Halo is something we never tire of… We’ve even been going back and playing H1 and H2 lately, though playing H1 on a 360 sucks, because it’s SO slow with the emulator running. A friend brought over Bioshock yesterday, so we are currently enthralled in that game, but I expect to be back on LIVE shortly. Hit me up for a friend request (Duzins) if you enjoy slaughtering girls (I love that the sound I make in game as I die now sounds female — great addition Bungie!).

So far we have had to restart the machine more than 5 times and it’s completely locked out our copy of Crackdown. It keeps saying ‘this game has updates’ but if we don’t download them it won’t let us play and if we choose to download it, the system locks up.

So, I can’t play Crackdown (and I was just finishing the last part) and I can’t play Halo 3 either… Bummer.
