So far we have had to restart the machine more than 5 times and it’s completely locked out our copy of Crackdown. It keeps saying ‘this game has updates’ but if we don’t download them it won’t let us play and if we choose to download it, the system locks up.

So, I can’t play Crackdown (and I was just finishing the last part) and I can’t play Halo 3 either… Bummer.

UPDATE: Looks like Halo 3 will launch officially on September 25. Sah-weet!

I’m stocking up on party food and drinks for a rousing game of Halo 3 tonight. The beta releases tonight at midnight. if you haven’t bought your copy of Crackdown or either gotten into the beta in the other way, then shame on you, because I’ve told you how to do it too many times to count.

Normally I’d ask off work tomorrow since this is a thrice in a lifetime event (grin), but I’ve been at a conference all weekend and spent Monday recouping Mother’s Day with my family and Tuesday at our corporate HQ (Sunnyvale) so I’ve not been in the office all week.

I think if I miss another day this week they may flog me. Regardless, I’m sure I’ll come in tomorrow looking like warmed-over poop (my mom used to say this all the time) and will likely end up drooling-sleepy by lunch. But, it will not have been in vain, as tonight I get to control Master Chief against an army of like-minded (ie crazy) gamers as we try to break the beta.

How will I bide my time for the next 3 hours???

This is a video that my little brother-in-law made. I was cracked-up by it, but I hope he stays in school ;)

I add this because I think this is what makes YouTube so popular. Sure, we all like to see the ‘millions of views’ videos, but what really matters to us is what matters to us offline (family, friends, goofy pranks and silly parodies of songs). We watch and forward these via IM (as Justin did to me) and continue to be enamored with this service that allows us to share these semi-private videos with ease and for free.

Sure, YouTube has problems, but I’m never bored when I’m browsing. There’s always something there to find, like when I initially scoured the ‘normal’ internet on Google. There are treasures awaitin’ and all we have to do is lazily click as we veg on our sofa. The joys of the internet…

I love this! I didn’t get to put on the bunny suit, but this is exactly what I wanted to do (videotape the inside of this building, not goof on Intel) when I visited in January.

Jen at ISN sent it to me, so I guess Intel’s taking the silliness in stride.
