Last night I went to see the midnight showing of the new Harry Potter movie, ‘Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix’. It was excellent, just as I expected, and while I’m tempted to fill this with spoilers, I know many of you will soon see the film so I’ll spare you that horror. I’ll just say that it was one of the first movies I didn’t check my watch on and I couldn’t leave my seat for a moment.
The video game has been out since late June, but I got to see the making of the video game Monday night on G4 and it was compelling. I dug up the XBox 360 trailer for the game, which is available on the PS2, PS3, Xbox 360, Wii and the DS.

My son has a birthday this week and he gets to take two friends to the movies. They are so torn between Harry Potter and the Transformers movie. Of course, we already have the new Transformers movie for PS2 and they LOVE it.

I know, Transformers looks really, really good. You going to be at Blogher?

Odd question…but is there anything special you do to make your video run smoother and more seamlessly than other videos? I noticed this one happened to run very smooth compared to other online videos i’ve viewed. Also, is there video of the video blogging session at blogher?

Nathan, No we didn’t video the session. I wish we had, but time constraints limited us (ie I was late getting to the session). There are some GREAT resources for compression and the like at freevlog.org but what I do it almost always use mpeg4 or h264 for my codec and I tweak the settings a bit. I posted my ‘tips for editing’ on the blogher blog during the conference, but if a web search doesn’t turn those up for you, email me at robyn@sleepyblogger.com and I’ll send you my fav specs via email
