According to XBox Live, Gamerchix recently turned two years old, but sadly I had no idea it existed. Apparently GamerchiX exists to create an environment that will allow women to play Halo, or other games, without consistently suffering “Hey, are you a girl, show me your boobs” in the game lobby or continual teabagging in game. Yes fellows, that happens ALOT to us girls and we aren’t impressed…
/minor rant off
Anyway, GamerchiX has a ladies night every Monday that is guy and trash-talk free. Not that I don’t love playing with guys (that aren’t morons), but just sitting back and being free of the annoyance sounds fabulous to me. They are really serious about the no-trashtalking and no-guys rules, both are grounds for removal from chiX. If the guys on LIVE are looking for a time when they can play games with hot chix they can do that on Friday nights w/the Frag Dolls. As Miley says, best of both worlds (Hey, I’m a mom, jeesh).
Monday nights offer us girls-only games you can find using the chiX tracker to locate locate girl gamers that are online now and ready to party up. The chiX tracker is only available on Monday nights and the login deets are given to you once you are verified female, if you are wondering.
LIVE also offers up a girls-only forum, designed as a place for conversation and friend-making. Coolest part? Totally grassroots. Trixie *is* a Microsoft employee but she started the group on her off time. Sure, the admin part is now run by Sakson and Taylor, but still, it was created via ‘normal people’ and w/o marketing efforts in mind. Nice!
You know, going back and reading this it totally sounds like a promo for XBox LIVE. Think I can get some advertising dough from Microsoft?
